Milan Kapadia is a solicitor who works in the Litigation (Corporate and Civil) and Insolvency (Restructuring and Recovery) department of the firm. Milan trained and qualified at Balsara & Co. into the litigation department. He has had wide ranging exposure through complex litigation matters varying from personal insolvency, beneficial interests and trusts, commercial claims, tribunal matters (VAT, LVT & RVT) to multimillion pound frauds and more recently advised the liquidators of the previously largest pharmaceuticals distributor in the UK, Colorama Pharmaceuticals Limited.

Milan has advised in cases involving asset tracing, the application of trust funds and company administrations (by directors, the company and by qualifying floating charge holders), liquidations (compulsory and voluntary), winding up petitions, personal bankruptcies, Individual and Company Voluntary Arrangements. Milan has successfully acted on behalf of personal and corporate clients both defending and serving claims. Milan has also drafted commercial contracts on the sale and purchase of assets and shares, loan agreements and security documentation.

He has acquired advocacy experience by appearing before Registrars in the Bankruptcy Court and Masters in the Queen’s Bench Division and the Supreme Court Costs Division.

A noteworthy case was being involved in advising the first Premier League club to go into administration, Portsmouth City Football Club (before it went in to administration), the Joint Administrators of Portsmouth City Football Club, UHY Hacker Young and thereafter the purchasers of the club.

Away from work Milan enjoys travelling and playing tennis and golf. Milan is fluent in German and Hindi.
